In the New York Jets’ 17th and final game of the 2023 NFL season, on a cold, snowy, blustery day in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the Jets defeated the New England Patriots, 17 - 3.

The first half saw the Jets take a 6 - 3 lead in a game limited by bad weather conditions and bad offenses.

The Jets opened the 3rd quarter on offense, leading by three points. As conditions worsened in a snowstorm, neither team could get anything going on offense. The third quarter ended with the score still 6 - 3 as neither team came close to scoring.

The Jets had the ball near midfield to open the fourth quarter. After the Jets punted, the Patriots turned the ball over on downs on their own 45 yard line, giving the Jets a golden opportunity to add to their lead. The Jets moved the ball into the red zone, then ... stop me if you’ve heard this before ... the drive bogged down and the Jets settled for a short field goal and a 9 - 3 lead with less than 9 minutes to play.

Later in the quarter the Jets had the Patriots pinned deep in their own territory with less than four minutes to play. Ashtyn Davis intercepted a deep pass, and then, in a completely moronic play, tried to lateral the ball to Sauce Gardner on the return. Just going down would have all but iced the game for the Jets. Instead, Davis fumbled, the Patriots recovered, and they were in business with a first down on their own 41 yard line and almost three minutes to work with.

Two plays later Tony Adams got an interception, and he did not make a moronic lateral attempt. The Jets had the ball near midfield with just over two minutes left in the game. Two plays later Breece Hall took a handoff and scooted 47 yards for a touchdown. Hall’s two point conversion made the score Jets 17, Patriots 3 and the game was essentially over.

A last gasp Patriots drive ended when they turned the ball over on downs and the Jets finally ended a 15 game losing streak against the Patriots.

The game ended with the final score Jets 17, Patriots 3.

With the win the Jets lifted their record to 7-10 to end the season. Now the Jets go into a long offseason with many daunting challenges to overcome if they want to be a serious contender in 2024.
