The first half of the New York Jets game against the New England Patriots is in the books, and the Jets are leading the Patriots, 6 - 3.

The Jets started the game on defense. Both teams could get nothing going on offense in the early action as a punt fest developed. Midway through the first quarter the Jets punted and pinned the Patriots inside their 5 yard line. A few plays later it was three and out for the Patriots. A shanked Patriots punt gave the Jets a short field inside the Patriots’ 40 yard line. Several Breece Hall runs gave the Jets 1st and goal at the 10 yard line. In a familiar turn of events, the Jets offense bogged down from there and had to settle for a short field goal and an early 3 - 0 lead.

Early in the second quarter the Patriots put together a long drive that ended in a short field goal and a 3 - 3 tie. The Jets immediately answered with a long drive and a field goal of their own to retake the lead at 6 - 3. The half ended without further scoring.

The Jets go into the locker room leading the Patriots by three points at 6 - 3.
