Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced to the media that quarterback Zach Wilson still has not cleared the concussion protocol and will miss the team’s season finale in Week 18 against the New England Patriots.

This comes as no surprise. Little purpose would have been served sticking Wilson back on the field in such a shaky situation, particularly against the team that has tormented him than any other.
This news potentially brings Wilson’s eventual tenure with the Jets to an end. Speculation has already begun about a parting of ways this offseason. It might be best for Wilson to get a fresh start elsewhere and an opportunity to build a career. Things haven’t worked out in New York.
The Jets have demoted Wilson four times in the last fourteen months. He kept getting new chances because of injuries to the players who replaced him but was seldom able to take advantage.
