The NFL Wild Card Weekend games get started today with an intriguing matchup of age vs. youth. Almost retired veteran Joe Flacco got picked up off the street by the Cleveland Browns late in the season and has had surprising success. Now he leads the Browns into Houston for a wild card matchup with rookie sensation quarterback C.J. Stroud and the surging Houston Texans. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 pm EST.

I would love to see the Texans take this game. Stroud is so much fun to watch and the Texans play an exciting brand of offensive football. I certainly think the Texans are capable of pulling off the upset here, but in the end I think Cleveland’s defense will be the deciding factor here. The Browns have the #1 defense in the NFL and the #1 passing defense in the NFL. Unsurprisingly, Stroud has struggled against top defenses in his rookie season. And the Browns easily handled the Texans in Houston just a few weeks ago. I’m taking the Browns to start this season’s NFL playoffs with a road victory over the Texans.
