Good morning Gang Green Nation! Confirmation came down this week that Jets’ safety Chuck Clark has a torn ACL and will miss the entire season this year. Clark will be 29 years old next year, a free agent coming off a serious knee injury. There is no guarantee he will ever play again in the NFL. Whether or not Clark makes it back and plays again, this is a reminder of how precarious a life in the NFL is. Serious injuries are common, and for the non-superstar, the chances of coming back from a serious injury are not all that great. Yes, the players are well compensated compared to almost any other profession, but it is still a sobering thought that your chosen career, one where you are one of the 1600 or so greatest talents in the entire world, could well be over before you reach the age of 30.
