Another week led to another loss for the New York Jets. The team has now lost five straight games, and any realistic hope of making the Playoffs for the first time since 2010 is done.
Our weekly fan confidence numbers at SB Nation Reacts show a fanbase not feeling very good about the franchise’s state.
The only thing you really can say is the confidence rating has stubbornly stuck in the 15 to 20 percent range over the last four weeks. So the one in five to one in six Jets fans who remain confident haven’t budged despite all the bad football. What might it take to get them to lose confidence? We will need to wait and see.
An Aaron Rodgers return to action this season might not be the cure for the lack of optimism. In our survey we also asked Jets fans whether the team should put the quarterback on the field in the event he is medically cleared to return. The result was overwhelming.
It is an understandable outcome. Rodgers won’t be able to spark a Playoff run, and he has stated himself that he will be less than 100 percent if he sees the field.
