Robert Saleh says he hasn’t decided on Week 14 starting QB, Zach Wilson wants to play

A bizarre day for the Jets.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh addressed the media shortly after a bizarre report leaked that Zach Wilson is reluctant to take back the Jets’ starting quarterback job.

For his part, Saleh suggested he has yet to make a decision on his Week 14 starting quarterback as the Jets get set to face the Houston Texans.

Saleh also suggested that he has spoken with Wilson, and the third year quarterback hopes to play.

After his press conference, Saleh went on The Michael Kay Show and reportedly seemed to theorize the report about Wilson could have been accurate to some degree.

Dianna Russini, one of two reporters who broke the story, added additional insight.

Meanwhile Jeff Howe, who writes for The Athletic, the same publication that broke the story, says Wilson will start if the Jets ask him to do so.

This is about as bizarre of a story as you could find. I don’t know whether things truly get better or worse for the Jets. The franchise just seems to invent new way to be weird.
