Jets fans are split on Woody Johnson’s decision to keep Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas

The owner announced his head coach and general manager will return in 2024 prior to the Jets’ Week 16 game

Prior to the team’s Week 16 win over the Washington Commanders, Jets owner Woody Johnson revealed his plan to bring back head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas for 2024.

This week as part of our SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked Jets fans whether they agree with the decision. The results were close, including a small fraction of the fanbase saying the owner should have waited until after the season to make his announcement.

Obviously the Jets have dealt with their share of adversity this season, especially at the quarterback position. The team’s struggles cannot all be explained by Aaron Rodgers’ injury, though. These factors likely explain why the vote was so close.

Jets fans are more united, however, in a lack of confidence in the team’s direction. Only 25 percent of fans who voted this week said they were confident.

It is worth noting that we conducted this survey before the loss to the Browns on Thursday Night Football so it stands to reason that low 25 percent figure will go down next week.
