The 5-6 Green Bay Packers come into this game winners of three of their last four games. Despite a losing record the Packers are currently right in the mix for a playoff berth in the NFC. They need a win at home against the Chiefs tonight to keep pace with several other 6 loss teams in the NFC.
The 8-3 Kansas City Chiefs come into this game in first place in the AFC West. The Chiefs are likely to win the division and make the playoffs barring a late season collapse. Though the Chiefs are still a formidable team, they aren’t quite the offensive juggernaut they’ve been in the recent past. Patrick Mahomes leads a Chiefs offense ranked 11th in the NFL in points scored. However, what the Chiefs have lost in offensive prowess, they’ve gained in defensive prowess. The Chiefs have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They are ranked third in points allowed and fourth in yards allowed. Jordan Love and the Packers offense will have their work cut out for them tonight against an excellent Chiefs defense.
On paper this should be a fairly easy victory for the Chiefs. The Chiefs have the better offense, the better quarterback and the better defense. The Chiefs haven’t lost to a losing team all year, and the Packers have won just one game against a winning team all year. I’m picking the Kansas City Chiefs to take care of business on the road and defeat the Green Bay Packers tonight.
