The first half of the New York Jets game against the Atlanta Falcons is in the books, and the Jets are trailing the Falcons, 10 - 5.

The two teams opened the game with an epic display of offensive fireworks as both teams failed to even come close to scoring deep into the first quarter.

A great punt by the Jets left the Falcons pinned at their own 1 yard line with less than two minutes left in the first quarter. Two plays later Quinnen Williams knifed into the Falcons backfield for a safety. Fittingly the Jets first points of the game were scored by the defense as the Jets took an early 2 - 0 lead.

After the two teams each executed the Grunt and Punt offense to perfection, Dalvin Cook fumbled and the Falcons took over on the Jets 47 yard line. A few plays later Desmond Ridder threw a touchdown pass to MyCole Pruitt and the Falcons had a 7 -2 lead early in the second quarter. The way the Jets have been playing offense that may prove to be insurmountable.

The Jets struck back with a long drive highlighted by a 36 yard flea flicker completion to Xavier Gipson. The drive predictably bogged down in the red zone and the Jets settled for a short field goal to make the score Falcons 7, Jets 5 late in the second quarter.

The score remained 7 - 5 until a last minute Falcons drive for a short field goal brought the score to 10 - 5 in favor of the Falcons as time expired.

The Jets go into the locker room 5 points down and in search of an offense.
