With the Jets officially out of the Playoff race, all attention can officially turn to Draft positioning. The Week 15 game in Miami was ugly for the team, but it did help the Jets improve their positioning for next spring’s NFL Draft. If the season ended today, the Jets would own the 6th selection.

The Jets are currently in a five-way tie for the fifth pick with a 5-9 record. The first tiebreaker is strength of schedule. Weakest schedule wins the tiebreaker. Of the 5-9 teams, only the Chicago Bears currently have a weaker schedule, which gives the Jets the sixth pick at the moment.

The full current Draft order is below. Picks 19-32 are determined by postseason outcome.

  1. Chicago (from Carolina) 2-12
  2. New England 3-11
  3. Arizona 3-11
  4. Washington 4-10
  5. Chicago 5-9
  6. NY Jets 5-9
  7. NY Giants 5-9
  8. LA Chargers 5-9
  9. Tennessee 5-9
  10. Atlanta 6-8
  11. Green Bay 6-8
  12. Las Vegas 6-8
  13. Seattle 6-7
  14. New Orleans 7-7
  15. Denver 7-7
  16. Pittsburgh 7-7
  17. Arizona (from Houston) 8-6
  18. Buffalo 8-6
