The longest Playoff drought in the four major North American sports leagues will continue for at least one more season. The Jets’ Week 15 loss to the Miami Dolphins combined with other AFC results from Sunday afternoon have officially eliminated the team from postseason contention in 2023.

This was more a matter of “when” than “if.” The Jets’ fate was sealed weeks ago.
Obviously Aaron Rodgers’ injury tops the list of reasons the Jets will fall short of the postseason. Still the fact the team has no chance with three weeks to go suggests there are other issues with the roster. Most of them are on the offensive side of the ball. Virtually nothing the Jets have tried on the offensive line or wide receiver (sans Garrett Wilson) has worked. If the Jets have any designs on ending this long period of futility in 2024, a lot of improvement will need to come from that side of the ball.
