A week and a win make Jets fans far more confident

The Jets’ win over Houston has fans feeling much more optimistic.

Sometimes all it takes is a win for fans to radically change their views. That certainly is the case this week for New York Jets fans.

This is our weekly check in with SB Nation Reacts. Every week we provide Jets fans with a survey asking them for opinions about the team. Then we bring the results.

Heading into last week’s game against the Houston Texans, fan confidence was low. Only 16 percent of fans were confident in the team’s direction. One victory later, that number has almost tripled. Almost half of Jets fans who answered our survey are now confident.

If you think that is dramatic, consider how views on Zach Wilson have shifted. Just a few weeks back, seven in ten fans who voted in our poll said he would never play again for the Jets. They obviously were proven incorrect by Wilson’s Week 14 start against the Houston Texans. After that start, six in ten Jets fans now say he will be back in 2024.

One thing that hasn’t shifted much after the win is fan sentiment on Aaron Rodgers sitting the rest of the season. Last week only 20 percent of fans who voted said he should return to the lineup even if cleared medically. The number bumped up only slightly in the aftermath of the victory over Houston.
