Jets currently hold 8th pick in 2024 NFL Draft

NFL: Pro Football Hall of Fame-New York Jets at Cleveland Browns Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets keep falling down the standings in the AFC. There is a minor silver lining. A drop in the standings means a simultaneous rise in the NFL Draft order.

The team’s current four game losing streak has put the Jets in the top ten in positioning for the 2024 NFL Draft. If the season ended today, the Jets would pick 8th. The Jets are one of four teams with a 4-7 record at the moment. The first tiebreaker is strength of schedule. Easier schedules are better for tiebreaker purposes. The Jets have had a tougher schedule than Tampa Bay, currently in 7th place by virtue of the tiebreaker. They have had an easier schedule than the Chargers and Titans, who are 9th and 10th respectively.

The full up to date Draft order is below.

  1. Chicago (from Carolina) 1-10
  2. Arizona 2-10
  3. New England 2-9
  4. Chicago 3-8
  5. Washington 4-8
  6. NY Giants 4-8
  7. Tampa Bay 4-7
  8. NY Jets 4-7
  9. LA Chargers 4-7
  10. Tennessee 4-7
  11. Las Vegas 5-7
  12. New Orleans 5-6
  13. Green Bay 5-6
  14. LA Rams 5-6
  15. Cincinnati 5-6
  16. Buffalo 6-6
  17. Arizona (from Houston) 6-5
  18. Denver 6-5

Picks 19-32 are determined by Playoff results.
