Jets vs Dolphins Second Half Thread

The Jets go into the locker room trailing by 11 points

NFL: Miami Dolphins at New York Jets Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

The first half of the New York Jets game against the Miami Dolphins is in the books, and the Jets are trailing the Dolphins, 17 - 6.

The Jets opened the game on offense, got one first down then punted.

The Dolphins took over at their own 15 yard line and methodically drove down the field all the way to the Jets 4 yard line. The Jets forced an incompletion on 4th and 2 from the 4 and they took over possession on their own 4 yard line.

The Jets promptly did what they do best on offense and went three and out. The Dolphins took the ensuing punt to near midfield, then went on a short drive and kicked a 38 yard field goal for an early 3 - 0 Dolphins lead.

The Jets Grunted and Punted, then the Dolphins methodically dismantled the Jets defense and scored on a short touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill. It was 10 - 0 early in the second quarter at this point, but the game already seemed all but over.

The two teams exchanged futile offensive drives until there was just over a minute left in the second quarter. At that point Tua Tagovailoa threw a pick 6 to Brandin Echols and the Jets had life. The Jets missed the extra point and the score was Dolphins 10, Jets 6.

On the ensuing Dolphins possession Tua Tagovailoa threw another interception with two seconds left on the clock. Tim Boyle threw a Hail Mary pass into the end zone that the Dolphins intercepted and returned for a touchdown and just like that, the Jets brief hopes were snuffed out.

The Jets go into the locker room on the wrong side of a 17 - 6 score.
