What does DraftKings Sportsbook think of the New York Jets chances to slow down Tyreek Hill?

The Miami Dolphins’ speed presents a unique challenge for the New York Jets defense

If Miami Dolphins’ wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s goal when he demanded to be traded away from the Kansas City Chiefs was to show that he could stand on his own without quarterback Patrick Mahomes, then I think we can say that he’s accomplished that much. Through just ten games this season, Hill has compiled 79 catches for 1,222 yards and 9 touchdowns. That’s arguably an All Pro season if he didn’t catch another ball this season. The dude is GOOD.

This week he runs into a new challenge, playing against the rightfully vaunted Jets secondary that is led by cornerbacks Sauce Gardner, D.J. Reed, and Michael Carter II. For reference on how good those guys are, PFF has those guys ranked as the league’s 10th, 5th, and 31st best cornerbacks in the league this season.

For me, the best football matchups are when one team’s strength is pitted against another team’s strength. What does DraftKings think of the Jets likelihood of holding Tyreek Hill in check based on Tyreek Hill’s player prop lines (as of 10:30AM on Thursday)?

  • To score at least one touchdown: -130 (implied probability of 56%)
  • To score at least two touchdowns: +425 (implied probability of 19%)
  • To have at least 75 yards receiving: -115 (implied probability of 53%)
  • To have at least 100 yards receiving: +220 (implied probability of 31%)
  • To have at least 120 yards receiving: +450 (implied probability of 18%)

Given the rate at which Tyreek Hill has been producing, these are pretty decent odds. It looks like DraftKings Sportsbook thinks it’s likely he’ll make an impact, but they’re less optimistic that he’ll take the game over like he did last week, when he put up 10 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders. If the Jets can keep Hill under 100 yards then they might just have a decent shot of upsetting the division leading Dolphins.
