Commanders vs Cowboys Prediction and Game Thread

The Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Commanders in the second of three Thanksgiving Day matchups

NFL: Dallas Cowboys at Washington Commanders Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

In the second game of a Thanksgiving Day NFL tripleheader, the Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Commanders in the late afternoon game.

After winning their first two games of the season, the 4-7 Washington Commanders have been in free fall, losing seven of their last nine. The Commanders biggest problems have been on defense, where they rank dead last in the NFL in touchdown passes allowed and points allowed. The Commanders have allowed 29 points or more in seven of their 1l games. It’s tough to win football games when you can’t stop your opponents from scoring.

The 7-3 Dallas Cowboys come into this game winners of four of their last five games. The Cowboys have bullied the lesser teams on their schedule, but they have not beaten a winning team all season. The Cowboys rank second in the NFL in defensive yards allowed and fifth in offensive yards gained. They rank second in points scored and fifth in points allowed. This is a well balanced, deep and dangerous Cowboys team.

This game looks like a bit of a mismatch. The Commanders can’t stop anyone and the Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the NFL, to go along with an excellent defense. I’m picking the Dallas Cowboys to take care of business at home against a bad Commanders team.

Enjoy the game everybody. Please leave your comments on the game below, in the section cleverly marked “comments.”
