Everyone going into this game expected an absoloute blowout. Especially when we got the news that QB Tyrod taylor was starting, who later came out the game with a rib injury. 3rd-string-quarterback Tommy DeVito entered the game for the Giants. After his substitution, the Giants only ran the ball. Saquon Barkley had 128 yards on 36 carries. Our defense, have yet saved us again, though. The Jets defense allowed the fewest passing yards in an NFL game in history at -9 passing yards. Although there were a few costly penalties commited by our defense, like Jermaine Johnson got called for a roughing the passer that led to a touchdown that drive. DE Micheal Clemons got called for offsides on a punt which caused the Giants to burn lots of time off the clock. Besides Breece Hall on a marvelous 50-yard touchdown, there were no sparks for the Jets on the offense. You could bring up and argument that they had lots of momentum going on the final drive of overtime, as Giants DB Adoree Jackson commited a costly roughing the passer penatly on Jets WR Malik Taylor, driving them inside the 20-yard line. The Jets decided to just go for the field goal instead of trying to pursue a touchdown. Greg Zuerlein nailed the field goal and the Jets somehow found a way to win the game. Garrett Wilson had a great game with 7 receptions for 100 yards. Giants rookie cornerback Deonte Banks got exposed by Wilson on many plays. It was good to have both of our starting cornerbacks though, as our pass defense was spectacular. All threats at WR/TE for the Giants were completely shut down. Giants WR Darius Slayton had 1 reception for -1 yards. Rookie WR Jaylin Hyatt had 0 receptions for 0 yards. TE Darren Waller had 1 reception for 4 yards. Although we stopped their recievers, Barkley had a great game with 128 yards. He seemed like the only hope for the GIants on offense. But, fortunately our late game actions gave us the win. Off to 4-3, 3rd in the AFC East. We face the Chargers next week on Monday Night Football at JetLife.
