After what we could describe as a flurry of enthusiasm for the Jets young team, expectations have started to temper - and fast. Zach Wilson couldn’t have had a worse of a rookie season, and while the hype grew out of hand after the draft took place, he’s now being mentioned as a player that’s unlikely to meet expectations. No kidding. The weight of the world shouldn’t be placed on Wilson’s shoulders in his second year, but the offense needs to look competent nonetheless. With that said, being a good coach means hiding your players’ deficiencies while exploiting their strengths. If LaFleur isn’t able to do that with the parts at hand, then it could get ugly fast.
