New York Jets Flight Connections 07/02/22

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! Another day, another prediction that the Jets will be cellar dwellers in 2022. This time it’s Michael Arinze in a column for the New York Post. Arinze has the Jets at 5.5 wins for the over/under line, the only AFC East team under 8.5 wins. It’s not difficult to figure why the Jets continue to get no respect this offseason, as the team has been a disaster for most of the last decade, and the most recent years have been as bad as we’ve ever seen as Jets fans. Nonetheless, I can’t help feeling that this year the team is being overlooked. This is not the same old talentless Jets roster we’ve seen for most of the last decade. The Jets have upgraded substantially. It makes sense, given this team’s endless struggles, to maintain a healthy skepticism. I don’t think this team will contend for the playoffs. However, I can’t help feeling this team is better than it is being given credit for. Until the Jets prove it on the field, pundits will continue to disrespect the Jets, and for good reason. But this just may be the year things start to turn around. The Jets just might surprise a lot of folks. We shall see.
