Good morning, Gang Green Nation! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day! In an expected move, the Jets picked up the 5th year option of interior defensive lineman Quinnen Williams. Williams has been one of the better IDL since he’s come into the NFL, so this isn’t a shocker to anyone. Douglas - and Robert Saleh - have stressed the importance of having a stout defense to help young quarterback Zach Wilson. We’ve seen with teams in prior years how a strong defense can elevate an entire team, and that is the expectation going forward. It allows more room for error for the offense, in turn giving them more chances to succeed and thwarting any potential setbacks in the development of Wilson going forward. We’ll see if it pans out in the long run, but it’s a step in the right direction. With that, here are your links to the team to start your morning.
