AGOP: Let's hope Woody doesn't Woody This... again!

Had to be one of the best NFL Playoffs to SuperBowl start to finish in recent memory.

What we saw on O was more than one Option on the field to make plays. As for our weapons.... Elijah Moore and Michael Carter are not enough.

What we saw on D was what Saleh has said all along.. Pass Rush. "You guys know how I am with the pass rush. It’s the one group that makes everyone better on defense and it’s the one group that can take away everyone on offense." The Jets defense must improve after allowing 29.6 points and 397 yards per game, both worst in the NFL. The run defense was manhandled pathetic allowing 2,343 rushing yards (fourth most) with 28 touchdowns (most in the NFL). As for a Pass Rush... We haven't seen an actual Pass Rush in Decades!

Let's start with The Trade: Quinnen Williams to Chicago for the 48th Pick in the 2nd Round. Good player, an excellent pro, has a low floor, & a big upside potential for a team with some extra picks in need of DL help.

Next Up... The Cuts - Sheldon Rankins DT, Greg Van Roten G, Ryan Griffin TE, Denzel Mims WR, La'mical Perine RB, Cameron Clark G, Kai Nacua S, Ty Johnson RB, Bradlee Anae, Dru Samia, Ross Pershbacher, Jabari Zuniga, Javin White, Austin Walter, Elijah Riley, Tim Ward, Del'Shawn Phillips, Jovante Moffatt, Isaiah Williams, Isaiah Dunn.

As for New York Jets FA returning... there will be none from that Defense. Does anybody want to see the worst D in the NFL be rewarded, extended, and return?

JFM gets moved to Interior D Line.

Back-ups on O: Braxton Berrios tops the list as a Pro Bowl Returner and depth piece at WR... let's reward success. Mike White is Mike White - RFA Tender... Mike White Returns. Eddy The Leg Pineiro, McDermott, Tevin Coleman, & Dan Mullet Feeney get 1-year deals.

Jets Day 1 Signings: Laken Tomlinson G San Fran 3 Year $13.3M per, CJ Uzomah 3 Year TE Cinci $8M per. (The Misses: Christian Kirk, Mo Alie-Cox, Haason Riddick, James Daniels)

All Free Agents have been verified available 3/14 end of day. All contracts have been vetted either in OTC, Sportrac, PFF, JetsXFactor, etc.

The Signings:

SS Jordan Whitehead 25 Tampa 3 Year $7.8M per (sportrac) Whitehead's playing time and production has been remarkably consistent over his first four NFL seasons. He has played in between 14 and 16 games each season, has notched between 11 and 16 starts, has ranged from 69 to 76 total tackles per year and has averaged about six passes defensed and tackles for loss per campaign.

OLB/EDGE Randy Gregory 30 Dallas 2 Year $12M per (otc) - Nasty. His impact as a pass rusher is undeniable, including a pressure rate of nearly 14%. Pure aggression, pure violence.

DE/EDGE Arden Key 26 San Fran 2 Year $6M per (pff) He has so much potential to become the prospect everyone thought he would be coming out of college. The success he had in the same defensive scheme would hopefully bode just as well in New York. As a depth piece behind a talented defensive line in San Fran, Key thrived in his pass-rush situations, tripling his previous season-high sack total with 6.5 and hitting the quarterback 17 times.

DT Sheldon Richardson 31 Returns 1 Year $3M (pff) BIG SHELDON!!!! WELCOME BACK!!!!

TE OJ Howard Tampa 1 Year $2.2M (sportrac). How can you not kick the tires on OJ at this stage of the game? 1-year prove-it deal. He'll get his opportunity on this team to show.

After Cuts & Signings: CAP $19,116,742

For The Draft, I used only sites dated after The Combine. I looked for 3 Site Verification for Draft Accuracy for draft positioning. Trade Downs have been verified value accurate and presented by outside teams in one simulation using PFF Draft Simulator for a real feel.

2022 New York Jets Picks Before The Draft: 1 (#4), 1 (#10), 2 (#35), 2 (#38), 3 (#69), 4 (#110), 4 (# 116), 5 (#146), and 5 (#163)

New York is On The Clock....

Selection #4 - Trade Offer Philadelphia #15 & #16 for New York #4 & # 69.

Selection #10 Jordan Davis 6'6" 341lbs DT GA $4,274,492

Goodbye Quinnen, Folo, Sheppard, Rankins... Can't wait to see this.

A slimmed-down 341 Pounds shouldn’t be able to move the way he can (4.78 40-yard dash). Davis was a huge reason why the Bulldogs ranked top three nationally in run defense in each of the past three seasons. Day 1 Starter.

Selection #15 - Trade Offer Las Vegas #22, #53, 2023 LV 2nd Round for New York #15 & #110

Selection #16 - Trade Offer Dallas #24, #56, 2023 Dal 2nd Round for New York #16 & #116

Selection #22 Trevor Penning 6'7" 321lbs OT Northern IA $2,837,756

With competition at LT with Fant and Becton... Penning would be an ideal candidate to come in and start Right Tackle if needed. Athletic, aggressive, mean streak.

Selection #24 David Ojabo 6'5" 250lbs EDGE Michigan $2,740,897

Ojabo is a physical freak of nature who benefitted from playing opposite Hutchinson at Michigan. He'll be playing opposite Carl Lawson & Randy Gregory on a defense that desperately needs more production against the QB. Day 1 Starter/Rotational

Selection #35 Daxton Hill 6'0" FS Michigan $1,804,599

The former Wolverine has the speed (4.38 40-yard dash), coverage skills, and versatility to make this an easy choice here. Some even think he can play Corner at the NFL Level.. he is that good. Day 1 Starter

Selection #38 Kaiir Elam 6"2" 190lbs CB Florida $1,762,627

Elam is a long and rangy corner who plays with speed and physicality. He has scheme flexibility with the hips to turn and run in man coverage. He has a knack for the football and the kind of playmaking ability that can change a game. There weren't any of those guys on the defensive side of the ball for The Jets last year. Day 1 Starter opposite Hall.

Selection #48 Christian Watson 6'4" 210lbs WR ND St $1,449,451

NFL pedigree with father playing safety in the NFL. Big target at 6'4" , big catch radius, with big hands 10 1/8" that can pluck the ball out of the sky.... 4.36 40 Time to blow the top of a defense. Perfect 3/4 WR at this level.

Selection #53 Jahan Datson 5'11" 185lbs WR Penn St $1,288,020

He is a dynamic route-runner at all three levels with enough speed to go deep with excellent hands and can create after the catch. Dotson can operate from the slot or outside the numbers. Dotson had 91 receptions for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns for Penn State last season. Elijah Moore to the outside, Datson to The Slot.

Selection #56 Christian Harris 6'2" 232lbs LB Alabama $1,207,305

Harris has the physical attributes and athletic ability to make plays and will thrive as a chase-and-hit, weakside linebacker, where he can play faster. Three-year starter for elite program at Alabama who ran a 4.44 as an LB at The Combine. Ideal Role: As a space linebacker that is responsible for making tackles in space and covering TEs and RBs out of the backfield. Scheme Fit: 4-3 WILL linebacker where his run fit responsibilities are defined and he can play in space on passing downs. Day 1 Starter

Selection #146 Alec Lindstrom 6'3" 300lbs C Boston College $809,687

A three-year starter on a talented Boston College offensive line, Alec Lindstrom is one of just five players in Eagles’ history to be a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection. Hailing from a football family, Lindstrom’s father was a Hall of Fame lineman at Boston University and spent three seasons in the NFL. His older brother was a four-year starter at Boston College and first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2019. Ideal Role: Developmental center. Scheme Fit: Zone run scheme. Depth

Selection #165 Pieere Strong 5;11' 207lbs RB SD St $795,957

In the NFL, he would be an optimal fit in a zone run scheme, ideally as a complementary piece who could also remain on the field on passing downs. His breakaway speed at 4.37 40-Yard Dash Time and the ability to catch and run in one motion make him an intriguing prospect. If Strong gets the ball in space with a step, you’re not catching him. He had 10 TD runs of over 50 yards and a 66-yard TD reception...
