The 49ers come into this game undefeated at 2-0, off a tough 17 - 11 win over the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Although the 49ers are undefeated after two weeks, they have achieved that record over two teams expected to finish near the bottom of the league in the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles. Tonight’s game against the Packers represents a major step up in level of competition. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers fare.
The Packers come into this game at 1-1, fresh off a convincing 35 - 17 win over the Detroit Lions after getting destroyed by the New Orleans Saints 38 - 3 in their opener. This may be the last year future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is with the Packers, as he is reportedly looking to be traded. Rodgers and the Packers will be gunning for a Super Bowl bid if this is their last dance. Tonight’s game against the 49ers may give us some indication whether this Packers team is the pretender they looked like in the opener or the contender they resembled last week.
It’s the 49ers and the Packers in a showdown with NFC playoff implications on Sunday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
