Today’s podcast recaps the first game of the 2021 season.
The Jets lost to the Carolina Panthers yesterday in Charlotte, falling to 0-1. This is the third straight opening loss for the Jets and the fifth in six years.
The first half of the game was ugly. It was comparable to numerous Jets performances from 2020. At halftime it had the feel of a totally uncompetitive game. The team did play better in the second half but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.
There was a lot of bad in this game, most notably the play of the offensive line. There also were some positives from the performance. I am not a big moral victories guy, but there will be things to evaluate this year that go beyond just the scoreboard. I discuss everything on today’s show.
