Some bad news to wake up to, and it has nothing to do with the Jets offensive line.
According to Ian Rapoport, Joyner may have torn his tendon in his arm, which will require surgery:
#Jets DB Lamarcus Joyner, who exited the game with an elbow injury, suffered an apparent torn tendon in his arm that will require surgery, source said. Pending further tests, the injury likely knocks him out for the season.
Joyner only lasted a handful of plays yesterday before exiting with the injury. He was replaced by Redwine who was slow to get across on Robby Anderson’s long touchdown.
Redwine did improve in the 2nd half, but he was often late to the ball and the Jets will surely look to potential free agents or trade targets to solidify the position. The alternative is to wait for Ashtyn Davis to recover from his own injury.
There are a few veteran safeties on the market, I’ve not looked into all of these guys but the names that instantly come to mind are Kenny Vaccaro, Tre Boston and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. I’m just throwing some names here, maybe the Jets will want to run with these young players.
