The first half of the Jets 2021 season opener against the Carolina Panthers is in the books, and the Jets trail the Panthers 16 - 0.
The Panthers got the better of the Jets in the first quarter, but neither team could get much going and the two teams had a scoreless first quarter. Braden Mann injured his knee, but Jets kicker Matt Ammendola did an admirable job filling in for the Jets.
Early in the second quarter a Zach Wilson interception gave the Panthers the ball deep in Jets territory and the Panthers eventually took a 3 - 0 lead on a short field goal. Later in the second quarter Sam Darnold connected with Robby Anderson on a 57 yard bomb for a touchdown and a 9 - 0 Panthers lead. The Panthers added a late touchdown on a Sam Darnold quarterback draw to complete a dominant first half.
We go into the second half with the Jets trailing by 16 points.
Enjoy the second half everyone.
