Robert Saleh has just given his pre-game press conference and there are two key bits of information regarding injuries.
Unfortunately, Jamison Crowder remains on the COVID list so he has officially been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Panthers. Keelan Cole who has been suffering with a knee injury this week will be a game-time decision.
Crowder was the Jets most reliable receiver last season, securing 59 receptions for 699 yards and 6 touchdowns, and despite trade rumors circulating this off-season, he still had a part to play in helping rookie QB Zach Wilson settle in.
With Crowder down and potentially Keelan Cole missing too, the Jets depth will be tested on the offensive side of the ball. Corey Davis will like up as WR1 and we’ll see plenty of 2nd year player Denzel Mims and rookie Elijah Moore too. Fortunately, Joe Douglas has rectified our depth issue, so even if both players are unavailable, Zach will still have weapons to work with.
Keelan Cole is in his first year with the Jets, the former Jacksonville receiver has been consistently productive over his 4 year career after going undrafted out of Kentucky Wesleyan. He has 159 receptions for 2242 yards and 12 touchdowns, regardless of if he plays this week or not, Cole will have a key part to play for the Jets in 2021.
