Podcast: Bless Austin and Jabari Zuniga Among Jets Roster Moves...and a Mailbag

The Jets made a number of roster moves as they continue to adjust their 53 man roster a day after cuts were made.

Among the most notable moves were the team moving on from starting quarterback Bless Austin and recent third round pick Jabari Zuniga.

The Austin decision I would term a surprise but not a shock. It was mainly surprising because he was working with the first team defense and had been a starter for a year and a half. Then again his work with the first team defense was reportedly not stellar through training camp. He might have played himself off the roster.

Zuniga was unable to capitalize on the opportunity that exists for Jets edge rushers after some injuries at the spot. His departure makes a second 2020 pick gone entering year two. It is also a sign we are moving past the honeymoon period for Joe Douglas, and we can perhaps begin to judge the GM on realistic terms.

After we talk about the moves on today’s podcast we move to the weekly mailbag.
