The Jets have cut their roster to 53 players. You might argue it’s really 52 players. Chris Herndon is technically taking up a spot although a trade to Minnesota is imminent.
On today’s podcast we talk about some of the big decisions the team made. Joe Douglas cut the one veteran quarterback on the roster along with a quarterback he drafted just last year. There were difficult decisions made at running back, wide receiver, and tight end. The Jets also find themselves a bit thin on bodies at various spots on the defense. The spot Herndon opens up when he is traded could go to one of them.
Of course this is just a preliminary roster. There are still waiver claims to be made and a practice squad to be built. Today’s show focuses on what we have right now.
