A small roster move today as the Jets re-signed safety Bennett Jackson after previously releasing him on the 17th during the first round of roster cuts.
Jackson has had a yo-yo career with the Jets over the last two years, moving in and off the active roster. Considering he was part of the first round of cuts, I don’t like his chances of making the final roster.
The move was forced due to Zane Lewis suffering a season-ending patella tendon tear and spraining his MCL. He was the 2nd player after Carl Lawson to be dealt a season-ending injury.
Lewis spent the majority of the 2020 season on the Jets practice squad and reports suggested he was enjoying a positive camp after moving from CB to safety. It’s a horrible stroke of luck for the young man and we wish him the best in his recovery.
