Jets vs. Packers Joint Training Camp Practice News and Live Updates 8/18

The Jets take their training camp on the road today. They will be conducting a joint practice with the Green Bay Packers at the Don Hutson Center, the Packers’ practice facility. This is the first of two joint practices the teams will conduct ahead of their Saturday afternoon preseason game.

There are obvious ties between the Packers and the Jets. Both Robert Saleh and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur are off the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree. Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur is the brother of the Packers head coach.

If you have been distressed by Mekhi Becton losing to Carl Lawson in training camp, this practice might be for you. It is no longer a zero sum game in Jets training camp. One player’s success does not necessarily come at the expense of another Jet. Of course, the reverse is also true. When a Jets player fails, there is no longer the consolation of another player succeeding.
