The Jets have activated defensive lineman Quinnen Williams from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Williams missed the start of training camp and the first preseason game recovering from offseason foot surgery.
The PUP list at this time of year isn’t as big of a deal as it sounds. When a player is injured before the first practice, he goes onto the list until he is healthy enough to participate in training camp. It isn’t that different from any other injured player sitting out a practice. There just isn’t a list for players who get injured after camp begins. Now that Williams can go, he comes off the list and begins practicing for the Jets.
It still wouldn’t be particularly surprising to see the Jets bring him along slowly perhaps putting him on a pitch count in practice and limiting his preseason playing time. Opening day remains weeks away, and Williams is still getting back.
