Jets Injury Report: Elijah Moore Suffers a Quad Injury in Thursday’s Practice

Jets rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore has been one of the stars of training camp so far. With that in mind, it’s a bit of a disappointment to hear that he left Thursday’s practice with a quad injury.

This leaves Moore’s status for Saturday’s preseason opener in question. The good news is we still have a number of weeks before the Jets open the regular season. Having Moore ready for that is the real priority.

In better news, it sounds like defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is progressing in his rehab from offseason foot surgery.

The Jets will be conducting joint practices with the Packers next week prior to the preseason game between the teams.

The team is hoping to see progress out of rookie Alijah Vera-Tucker, who has missed the last few days of practice.

Reserve tackle Chuma Edoga isn’t yet ready to return, but the Jets seem optimistic he will get back soon.

Finally, Braxton Berrios will miss the preseason opener.

For some players missing preseason action isn’t a big deal. I don’t think Berrios is one of those players. He is on the roster bubble. His clearest path to the 53 man roster might be by winning a returner job, and those will likely be determined to a large degree by what happens in the preseason.
