New York Jets Flight Connections 8/11/21

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. Among the Denzel Mims and Zach Wilson narratives that keep fluctuating throughout the media, another story has remained a constant as training camp has gone on. That story is how frequently Mekhi Becton is being beaten by newly acquired DE Carl Lawson. Lawson has been an absolutely wrecking machine during training camp this year, mostly to the deficit of Becton. Now, this could either mean that Lawson is just incredibly good which will in turn, make Becton better. Or, Becton isn’t playing nearly up to the standard we are expecting from him and should be slightly concerned. I’m not quite sure which side of the fence I stand on in this debate, but I do hope that it eventually makes everyone on the team better for future success.
