The Jets have signed rookie offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker to his rookie contract.
Vera-Tucker was the second selection the Jets made in the first round of the NFL Draft in the spring. After picked Zach Wilson second overall, the team traded up with the Minnesota Vikings to select the USC offensive lineman with the 14th pick giving up the 23rd pick and a pair of third rounders.
Over the Cap estimates Vera-Tucker’s contract will be worth $15.9 million over four years. His rookie cap hit will be just under $2.9 million. As is the case with all first round picks, the deal includes a team option for a fifth year. The Jets will need to decide whether to exercise it in the offseason after Vera-Tucker’s third NFL season.
The Jets have two remaining unsigned picks, Wilson and second round selection Elijah Moore. The first practice of training camp in 2021 is scheduled to take place one week from today.
