New York Jets Flight Connections 7/12/21

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! Training camp opens for the New York Jets in 17 days and three draft picks remain unsigned. First round picks Zach Wilson and Alijah Vera-Tucker and second round pick Elijah Moore have yet to come to agreement with the Jets. This isn’t unusual. Top picks often take longer to sign. Actual holdouts have become a rarity in the NFL since the rookie wage scale was established ten years ago. Rookie contracts are for the most part standard, with just a few important items subject to negotiation, such as offset language. Though a holdout is not out of the question, the most likely scenario is that all Jets draft picks will be signed and ready to report on time for training camp. That would be ideal, as the three players currently unsigned look to have big roles for the Jets this season.
