Podcast: Roles and Expectations for Jets Rookies

On today’s podcast we take a look at the rookie class of 2021. The focus is on Draft picks. We won’t discuss undrafted free agents since almost none of them will make the final roster.

Generally speaking expectations should be low for rookies. Few of them contribute much in year one. To the extent rookie do offer something it is typically those picks at the top of the Draft. That makes the 2021 class a potentially unique one for the Jets. The team made three of the top 34 selection. The Jets also added a running back at the top of the fourth round, a player who could be an instant starter at a position where the team had virtually nothing. This is one of the rare cases where instant rookie impact is a reasonable hope.
