New York Jets Flight Connections 5/25/21

Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets

NFL: Cleveland Browns at New York Jets Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. With OTA’s now starting, the Jets are essentially out of luck trying to sign a good, veteran, backup quarterback; which means more likely than not, they’ll have to trade for one. Many ‘experts’ have suggested the team goes after Bears QB Nick Foles, but I would prefer if they went another route - if not just due to the enigma that Foles is. Foles has a similar aura of former Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, where he seemingly always manages to find himself as the starting quarterback when initially starting the season as the backup. Besides that, I also don’t believe he would be as helpful as a veteran presence as some have suggested. There’s next to no precedence of him being a great mentor other than team-speak when teammates are asked directly about it. Regardless, backup QB is still a huge need for the Jets right now so it’ll be interesting to see which direction they go in. With that, here are your links to the team to start your morning.
