New York Jets Flight Connections 4/6/21

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. As you all know by now, Sam Darnold, the third-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft has been traded to the Carolina Panthers. It’s a deal that’s probably best for both teams. The Jets got fair compensation; with a 6th-round selection this year, and a 2nd and 4th-round pick next year. For the Panthers, Matt Rhule gets the quarterback that he was enamored with to begin with. Rhule interviewed for the Jets vacant head coaching job (the same one that led to Adam Gase’s hiring) and raved about Darnold. With Panthers ownership looking to move on from Bridgewater, the team has a chance to prove everyone wrong and potentially turn Sam into a superstar.
