The New York Jets have selected wide receiver Elijah Moore with the 34th overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Elijah Moore is a 21 year old, 5’ 9”, 185 pound wide receiver out of Mississippi. He projects as a slot receiver in the NFL. Moore is a dynamic athlete with outstanding agility and quickness. He is a bit raw as a route runner but he is an electric target who is a threat to score whenever he touches the ball. An ultra-competitive receiver who reminds some of Antonio Brown, Moore is not very big, but he’s stronger than he looks and he’s fearless going over the middle of the field. Moore has great lateral quickness to separate and the long speed to be effective in deep routes. He has sure hands and excellent ball skills with an innate feel to find the open spots against zone defenses.
Elijah Moore led Ole Miss in receiving in 2019 with 67 receptions, 850 yards and six touchdowns. He also returned 14 punts for 90 yards. Moore led the FBS with 10.8 receptions and 149.1 receiving yards per game in 2020. He set a school record with 86 receptions for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns. Moore earned first-team Associated Press All-American, first-team All-SEC and Biletnikoff Award finalist honors. He opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season after eight games.
With this selection the Jets now have the following remaining picks in the 2021 NFL Draft:
Fourth Round: Pick #107 and Pick #143
Fifth Round: Pick #146 and Pick #154
Sixth Round: Pick #186 and Pick #226
