New York Jets Flight Connections 4/03/21

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! With the NFL draft coming up later this month the talk has turned to who the Jets will take with the #2 overall pick. They could trade down, they could take a non-QB, but all the talk has focused on the quarterbacks. In particular, it has recently been all Zach Wilson, all the time. Much of the press is convinced the Jets have made up their minds, and Wilson is their guy. That may well be the case, but I doubt anyone outside the Jets front office knows who the Jets will pick. To suggest otherwise would mean a Jets organization that has largely been impervious to leaks for the duration of the Joe Douglas era has suddenly sprung leaks like the Titanic and is now blabbing their intentions to any media dude willing to listen. That strikes me as unlikely. If the Jets do end up taking Wilson, I doubt the media will have been informed beforehand, though that will likely never be known for sure. And if the Jets don’t take Wilson, it will be yet another in a long line of examples of media stories claiming they knew what the Jets would do based on little more than a hunch and a desire for clicks.
