With the 2nd overall selection in the 2021 NFL draft, the New York Jets have selected quarterback Zach Wilson out of Brigham Young University.
With the trade of quarterback Sam Darnold, the selection of a quarterback at #2 was all but inevitable. The question was, which quarterback? Speculation for weeks ahead of the draft was that Zach Wilson was the guy. Personally I would have been happy with Wilson or Justin Fields, so Wilson is just fine by me. Some believe he has the highest upside of any quarterback in the draft, including Trevor Lawrence. While I wouldn’t go that far, Lawrence wasn’t available, so Wilson meets my approval.
