Tonight is the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. We have been waiting all offseason for this. It might be more accurate to say we have been waiting for this since September. It was pretty obvious in the early part of the season that 2020 was not going to be a particularly good year for the Jets. Many of us turned to the Draft early.
With the second pick the Jets will select their next quarterback of the future. The team has a second pick in the opening round, 23rd overall. This selection was obtained in the Jamal Adams trade.
On today’s podcast I talk about these two picks. There will likely be outsized expectations on the quarterback, but it will important for the Jets to build properly around him. Pick 23 is one resource to do that. That selection could go in numerous different directions.
