Good morning, Gang Green Nation! The Jets players and the players on many other teams have announced they will not be attending voluntary OTAs this year in light of the ongoing pandemic. While this may not be ideal for a team with all new coaches, I doubt it will have much long term impact. The OTAs are in any event voluntary, and it’s always been a little ridiculous to expect players to “voluntarily” work for the team. If teams want the players to show up in years to come, it’s a simple thing to add workout bonuses to contracts, which I suspect will be something most teams will prioritize in the future.
