Podcast: Jets Franchise Marcus Maye; Free Agents to Avoid

The Jets made a significant move on Monday, giving the franchise tag to team MVP Marcus Maye. This does not come as a major surprise. There was a lot of buzz in recent weeks about the Jets tagging the safety in recent weeks.

On today’s podcast I offer some thoughts on the move. Mainly I believe this move was made to extend the team’s negotiating window to hopefully work out a long-term deal.

After discussing Maye the topic turns back to free agency. On Monday’s show I mentioned the free agents who would be at the top of my wishlist. Today I talk about the free agents I would like to see the Jets avoid. This isn’t necessarily because these are bad players. It is because I think these players are likely to receive too much money relative to what they provide.
