New York Jets Flight Connections 3/9/21

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. As predicted, safety Marcus Maye received the franchise tag from Joe Douglas and the Jets. Going into his 28 year season, this was expected. Even with Maye’s agent slandering the organization through social media there was no real reason for Douglas to let Maye walk. The price tag that will come with Maye for this season will be 10.5M, which is absolutely worth it. If I’m the Jets, I would probably franchise tag Maye again next season and look for a replacement as he turns 30. With the first non-cut move of the offseason done by Douglas, we can start to lay out the groundwork for how he may want to navigate this year.
