New York Jets Flight Connections 3/3/21

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. The Jets have released Henry Anderson, which quite frankly isn’t too surprising. Anderson originally came to the Jets through a trade with the Indianapolis Colts for a 7th round pick. It was one of the few good moves by Mike Maccagnan at the time, and Anderson did play well in his first year with the team; reaching a career high sack total of seven. After that season Mike Maccagnan did what he does best: hand out a horrible contract. Anderson received an extension for $25 million and just didn’t live up to the deal; a large reason as to why he was probably cut. The move saves the Jets a little over $8 million in cap space and puts their salary cap space above $70 million. You can expect the Jets to target a defensive end either in the draft or free agency now; and wouldn’t see them shocked to make a play at Trey Hendrickson.
