Jets additions in free agency aren’t happening at an exceptionally fast pace, but the team continues to sign players.
Over the weekend there were a pair of new additions, Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and Bills tight end Tyler Kroft. We discuss both of these players on today’s podcast.
Rankins is the more significant addition. The former first round pick was ascending into an impact player prior to a serious injury he suffered in the 2018 Playoffs. The last two years he hasn’t been able to play much and hasn’t looked the same when he has. He has stated that he finally is starting to feel healthy, and he drew a lot of interest in free agency. There are unknowns, but this signing has a high ceiling.
Kroft meanwhile has a lower ceiling but could provide an upgrade at the tight end position, an area where the Jets are weak.
Thanks for listening.
