Free agency in the NFL moves forward today.
The Jets didn’t add anybody of note in free agency on Saturday, but there were a few developments. Marcus Maye signed his franchise tag, meaning he is currently set to make between $10 million and $11 million on a one year contract unless he and the Jets can work out something longer term. The two sides have a few months to do that.
The longest tenured member of the Jets, Jordan Jenkins agreed to terms with the Houston Texans after a disappointing 2020. It didn’t seem like the Jets had a great deal of interest in keeping him around so his time in New York ends after five years.
The Jets also lost out on Keanu Neal. The former Falcons safety who is moving to linebacker chose to sign with the Dallas Cowboys. He was reportedly choosing between the Jets and the Cowboys.
