According to multiple reports the New York Jets have agreed to terms on a deal with former Los Angeles Chargers interior offensive lineman Dan Feeney. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
The 26 year old, 6’4”, 310 pound Dan Feeney was originally drafted by the Chargers with the 71st pick in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL draft. In four years Feeney played in 63 games for the Chargers, starting 57 of them. Feeney has some flexibility along the line, playing guard for the Chargers, but also filling in at center from time to time. Though he was a 4 year starter, Feeney eventually fell out of favor in Los Angeles. He consistently graded out well below average by Pro Football Focus, and in the last three years Feeney has allowed 17 sacks. If he is to become a plus starter with the Jets, the Jets coaching staff will have to work some magic with this project. More likely Feeney, despite his extensive starting experience, is looked at as a depth piece for the offensive line.
